Monday, September 10th, 2007Influenza or Dengue, take your pick… its been 3 days and im still not feeling well. Who says being sick is fun? It’s only fun if it’s just a case of mild fever & you just have to sleep it off & it’ll be gone in the morning. What if you wake up next morning & you feel as if you’ve been inside the oven overnight & your nostrils are clogged & you cant breathe… You try to get up but unfortunately your muscles give away. Body malaise [pronounced as ma-lei]… Jiggy, di po ikaw reason. Baka mamaya iniisip mo that i blame you. Heck no… Bacn gani natakdan tika. hehehe. Ingat ka ha…
::Flu::
- Fever of 100 F to 104 F, which can reach 106 F when symptoms first develop. Fever is usually continuous, but it may come and go.
- Body aches and muscle pain (often severe), commonly in the back, arms, or legs.
- Headache.
- Pain when you move your eyes.
- Fatigue, a general feeling of sickness (malaise), and loss of appetite.
- A dry cough, runny nose, and dry or sore throat. You may not notice these during the first few days of the illness when other symptoms are more severe. As your fever goes away, these symptoms may become more evident.
::Dengue:: spread by the bite of an Aedes mosquito. The mosquito transmits the disease by biting an infected person and then biting someone else [hmmm... this sounds familiar, except that it wasn't an insect]
2) Severe headache mostly in the forehead
3) Joint and muscle pain, and body aches
4) Pain behind the eyes which worsens with eye movement
5) Nausea or vomiting of coffee coloured matter
